Bubble 1 - 1st - 3rd July 2020 & Bubble 2 6th-8th July

Dear parents of Y6 Bubbles 1 & 2

Please see below a grid which outlines our learning from this week. There are follow-up tasks for some subjects that the children should do this week as part of their home learning - the slides for each of these lessons can be found on the website.

Please prioritise these over other activities and they will feed into our learning next week - we have discussed this process with your children.

In school learning

Home learning

This week in maths we have been looking at sequencing and the nth term. The children have been required to use what they already know presented to them and apply this in order to find patterns and new values.

Consolidation Activity -

For your home learning this week, we would like you to read through the slides (more on the nth term) and complete the activity. This will involve completing sequences and finding out new values which are much further on in the sequence.

Challenge task: Solve problems in context relating to the nth term.

Organising animals according to characteristics

Create and Classify
Imagine you have discovered a new species of vertebrate: describe it, classify it, draw it! See the slides for more information.

Yearbook Entry

We have been discussing our end of year projects - some are not to be shared with parents at this point - shhhh!

If you haven't yet done this, please do by TUESDAY 7th JULY or you will not ave an entry as we need to get the books printed after this date.  . We are making a year book and need an entry from every child in Year 6 - due to restrictions using equipment in school, this needs to be a home learning task. Find the template and some examples attached. ONLY USE the template to create your entry. Modify the template with colours, your input and a picture. DO NOT change the font. Please send back to us via our class emails.

Passion Project

We have really enjoyed learning from the children about their passion including: palm oil, dance, lego, geckos, animals, turtles and even a stop motion film!

We've had just over half our the bubbles present their passions and they've genuinely been really great - make sure you do your if you haven't yet, only 2 more weeks to go!

Have a lovely week and we look forward to seeing your children again next Monday.
