Good morning Team Acorns!
We hope you all had a lovely day yesterday, whether you were in Nursery or at home.
Here are some activities you might like to try today:
Phonics: Have a box of objects or some objects hidden under a cloth starting with different sounds. Show the children the objects, emphasising the initial sound, before hiding them. Sing what have I got in my sound box today, sound box today, sound box today…(to the tune of Here we go round the Mulberry Bush). Say a sound to your child and they have to work out what the object could be.
Physical Development: Can you try out some of the physical activities that Superworm and his friends do? Try wiggling, weight lifting, skipping with a rope, jumping, crawling and creeping.
Mathematical Development: Go on a search around your house or garden looking for things that are taller than you and things that are shorter than you. Take a picture of the things you find.
Story: Listen to Mrs Keith read the story Superworm. https://youtu.be/ldXYjcdRdFM Can you finish the rhyming sentences?
Creative development: Design a superhero cloak for Superworm. You could draw it, paint it or collage it.
We would love to see some photos of any of the activities you do. Have a fun day,
Best wishes
Mrs Keith and Mrs Grimes
