Good morning Year 3,

It's been so lovely hearing from so many of you. There's been lots of brilliant writing; the children have all shown an impressive understanding of Treasure Islands's characters and story line and applied their reading skills well in the various activities they  completed last week. I have received some fantastic performances of Kit Wright's In My Magic Box, there have been some very creative actions and I'm very excited to hopefully see some more performances by the children tomorrow!

Miss Lee is in school again tomorrow, so if Fir class have any questions please email them to

Today's learning

Maths: Please read through the slides, it might be useful to jot down any key words you come across such as regular, irregular, quadrilateral and polygon and look up the meaning of these. This will help you with the tasks later on.

Then chose a task to have a go at - either 2A (tricky), 2B (trickier) or 2C (trickiest), chose the task you feel most comfortable at completing.

English: Please watch the following video where Poet Joseph Coelho investigates how poetry can be used to express emotions and feelings -

Once you have watched this, can you complete the personification activity attached on the school website. You might also want to create an emotion riddle like the one in the video. Can your family guess the emotion?!

French: Madame Willis has kindly sent some more work on weather for the children to complete. There's a listening task with a grid and answers for the children to fill in. She's sent a short weather comprehension too, which the children love as they hear a passage being read in French and then realise that they can understand it!

I hope that, despite the rain that's forecast, you all get a chance to enjoy being outside in the fresh air. Please spend time exercising and outside playing. I look forward to hearing about your fantastic learning and seeing your brilliant achievements.

Best Wishes,

Miss Thomas
