Good morning Acorn Class!

It was lovely to see your learning from the end of last week. I’m so pleased some of you had a go at making the worm jars. We hope you get to see what the worms are busy doing underground. We hope those of you who came back to Nursery yesterday enjoyed seeing some friends and teachers again.

Today’s suggested tasks are as follows:

Phonics: Have a selection of objects which start with 4 or 5 different sounds. Have letters laid out and see if the children can match the object to the initial sound.

Physical Development: One activity from the Rainbow Games.

Mathematical Development: We would like you to link this to the story, ‘One Mole Digging a Hole’ today. Show how many of each type of animal there is by drawing. Can you think of some other animals? Draw how many there are.

Story: Today’s story is ‘One Mole Digging a Hole.’ If you don’t have the story, you can listen to Mrs Keith reading it.

Can you think of some different animals and rhyming words? e.g.  2 owls with garden trowels

Understanding of the World: See if you can find out any answers to the questions you thought of yesterday. There are some clips about animals that live underground on https://www.bbc.co.uk/teach/class-clips-video/science-ks1-ks2-the-burrowers/z74kgwx. You might be able to find some answers here.

We look forward to seeing your learning today,

Best wishes

Mrs Keith and Mrs Grimes
