This is the Schools Motto

Tuesday 9th June 2020

Good morning Year 3,

I hope you're all well. Thank you for sending your work, I've especially enjoyed reading all of your brilliant writing! The children have had some great ideas for their treasure maps, I hope they have been enjoying the story of Treasure Island.  I've been so impressed with how well the children have been keeping up with the routine of homeschooling.  Miss Lee is in school again today, so please send any questions to elm@redbourprimary.co.uk

To clarify, here is a table of when we will both be in school:

Bike week:

This week is Bike Week! Cycling has been a great release for many families during the pandemic and we hope you'll continue to enjoy cycling with the family and celebrate by taking part in the Bike Week festivities this week. It's your chance to celebrate all that's great about cycling! The latest Government rules say although we have to maintain our social distancing and be at home where we can, unlimited exercise is now permitted. To help keep families active during this time, Cycling UK have released a free Bike Week resource pack with indoor and outdoor activities you can do as a family. There are a range of activities from cooking to colouring, to bike challenges. Take a look here:  https://www.cyclinguk.org/bikeweek/activities-for-families

If you do complete any of these activities or have a go at the 7 days of cycling challenge, please send me photos - I'd love to see!

English:

We are continuing with the story of Treasure Island, using the BBC Teach videos and resources.

  • Click here to watch episode 6: https://www.bbc.co.uk/teach/class-clips-video/english-ks2-treasure-island-pt6/zv346v4
  • Captain Smollett tells Silver that if he gives himself up he can be sure of a fair trial in front of a court of law. Imagine Silver is a fugitive  pirate on the run and create a ‘Wanted’ poster for him.
  • List the crimes for which he is ‘Wanted’, using commas in a list. You can create your own poster or use the poster attached as a template.

Maths:

We are carrying on with the White Rose Maths activities. Please complete the attached Maths activities on hours in a day.

Spelling

This week's spelling list is attached, the test will be going live on Friday. Please know from now we will be sending out each week's spelling list on a Tuesday. Use the Monday to practise any spellings from last week that you got incorrect.

French:

Madame Willis has sent a nice activity on weather this week. Here is the link to a Powerpoint with a sound file on it. There is a weather chart for the children to complete each day as well.

Please keep practising your handwriting and timestables. To help you practise your timestables this week, you might want to have a look at some of these games:

I look forward to seeing all your great learning! Enjoy your day!

Best Wishes,

Miss Thomas
