This is the Schools Motto

W/B 29th June 2020

Hello Year 5,

Well done for all your hard work last week.  Those of you who were in school did a fantastic job adapting to the new school and classroom routines and I am sure you had a lot of fun seeing your friends and classmates again.  Those of you who were learning from home also did a fantastic job - your stories and character creations were brilliant!

Some reminders about next week:

  • If you are a bubble learner, on the days you are learning from home, you should try to complete the English and maths tasks for Monday-Wednesday and whichever wider curriculum tasks you would like from the week.  As always, complete what you can
  • As stated in the newsletter, because more teachers are working on site until the end of term, we will no longer be able to offer feedback on home learning work.  It will still be set each week.  If you have any questions about the home learning please contact Mrs Joseph at

Here are the tasks we would like you to have a go at this week if you can:

English:  This week we will be writing a diary entry.  Use the Oak academy lessons to guide your learning.  Links are on the class timetable or you can find the lessons here -  Scroll down to the lessons for a diary entry.  On Thursday, after completing the spelling and grammar lesson, complete the planning sheet (02.07.20 English task).  Use the success criteria on the task sheet to help you with your plan.  This will ensure you have met this criteria when you begin writing.

Maths meetings: We will continue to revisit maths meetings from earlier in the year.  Links for the videos can be found on the timetable or here  We will be completing the meetings from 20th-24th April.

PE:  Complete 30 minutes of physical exercise a day.  Use the websites on the wider curriculum menu for ideas or complete the exercise circuit you designed.
