W/B 29th June 2020
Dear Year 4 (29.6.20)
Hope you are all well and have had a good weekend! Thank you to all those that contacted me last week and sent me pictures of your work. I've really enjoyed seeing all your work, you've all been working so hard.
Unfortunately, both Mrs Smith and I are in school all of week now except for Wednesdays, so we will not be able to respond to emails. However, we would still love to see your fantastic work so please still send it to us. We will be picking up emails on Wednesdays and can respond to any question or queries then.
We are both looking forward to seeing you as you come back into class for two days. This does however mean that some of you will be working to a different timetable than others as you will only have three days of home learning. I have created a timetable for this week's home learning, it is there to help add some structure to the week. If you wish to deviate from the timetable because it suits you better, please feel free to do so. Those who are in school next week, will have to pick and choose which activities they wish to complete.
I have already uploaded all resources, lesson slides and activities to the website for the whole week. However, additional lessons might be uploaded to the website during the week so keep an eye out.
For the English tasks please continue to refer to the writing sheet for the day's writing focus, this will be last week on these activities but you should have 4 writing tasks left to complete this week, 2 from the weekend 27th&28th and then Monday 29th and Tuesday 30th.
There are three Science experiments for you to complete this week, one called Transforming Star', one called 'DIY Lava Lamp and the other called 'DIY Bug Collector'. Have a go at the experiments then please write up your findings.
For Maths we would like you to work through the oak academy lessons on area, this will allow you to do as much/little as you wish and doesn't limit it for those of you who are coming into school. link can be found: https://classroom.thenational.academy/subjects-by-year/year-4/subjects/maths
Each week I will set some Art work related to a different country from around the world. This week you will be looking at African Art. First please read the information power point and write a paragraph all about African art and pattern making, using the key points from the power point and any additional research you wish to do at home. Then have a go at making your own African style patterns, let me know what's inspired you and enjoy being creative!
For Spellings there is a Say, look, write, cover sheet on the website and you'll be able to find the link to Mrs Couches spelling test here: https://youtu.be/3ZI6hbWZr8M
In French you will be looking at numbers this week and using them to play a French number game called plus haut, plus bas.
Please continue to choose activities from the extracurricular menu, I hope you enjoying working on these in your afternoons. I look forward to seeing the fantastic learning you guys get up to. Make sure you all work to a schedule that best fits you.
Continue reading regularly everyday as much as possible.
