W/B 6th July 2020

Good morning Chestnut,

I hope everyone has had a lovely weekend. Happy Birthday to Jude who turned 7 on Saturday!

In maths this week we are looking at consolidating subtraction and addition knowledge, using White Rose Maths videos to support the concepts. Mixed operations are back for the last time this year!

English centres around a Literacy Shed activity pack. There is a short video called "Once in a Lifetime" the activities relate to this and use creative writing, observations and inference skills. I hope you enjoy picking activities from the pack to do. There are several other packs on the website if the children enjoy this independent learning style, I recommend "Book of Butterflies" which you should find using the same link as "Once in a Lifetime"

Science looks at the whole Y2 topic of animals and it is a good opportunity for the children to refresh their knowledge and work independently.

I'm really looking forward to welcoming our second bubble of Chestnut children on Monday and Tuesday, if there are any nerves do watch the video on the Y2 Home Learning website to see how the class looks. We had a lovely time this week!

Have a lovely week, and send me something you are proud of, I read and look at all of your work!

See you soon!

Mrs Chadwick
