Good morning Year 3,

I hope you're all well and managed to enjoy the sunshine yesterday! I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to reply to your emails yesterday, both Miss Lee and I were in school. However, I look forward to seeing what you've all been getting up to today.

Today's learning:

English: Please watch this video on how to write fun poetry. https://www.bbc.co.uk/teach/class-clips-video/english-ks1-ks2-understanding-poetry/zdy4xyc

Once you've watched this video have a go at writing your own nonsense poem.

  1. Think of an everyday activity like the one shown in the video (brushing teeth).
  2. Write a poem about it using everyday language.
  3. Change some of the words into different words so that it becomes a nonsense poem. Try to make your family laugh!

Challenge: Try to make up entirely new words!

Maths: Read through the slides and discuss them at home. Can you find out the meaning of perimeter?

Then choose a task to complete - either 2A (tricky), 2B, (trickier) or 2C (trickiest).

Science: Please complete the next Oak Academy science lesson - How do plants adapt to their different environments? https://classroom.thenational.academy/lessons/how-do-plants-adapt-to-different-environments

How do plants adapt to different environments?

In this lesson, we will learn how plants adapt to survive in hot and cold environments.

Please spend some time outside enjoying the sunshine and exercising.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Best Wishes,

Miss Thomas
