Good morning Acorn Class!

We hope you all had a lovely day yesterday, whether you were at home or in Nursery. We hope you have been enjoying the Rainbow Games. Remember to keep a note of your scores and send them to us when you have completed all the tasks. I know Mrs Grimes and Mrs McCarthy enjoyed doing the Star Challenge in Nursery with some of you and it’s good to see some of you have been trying the games at home.

Today’s suggested tasks are as follows:

Phonics: We would like you to play a listening game today. Show children 4 or 5 different toy animals or animal pictures. Adult to describe the animal and children to select the correct one. Repeat for different animals.

Physical Development: One activity from the Rainbow Games.

Mathematical Development: We would like you to do some sock sorting today. Using all of your socks, sort them into colours or patterns. Can you record how many of each type of sock you have? You could draw them or draw symbols.

Story: Read the story ‘Rabbit’s nap’ by Julia Donaldson and Axel Sheffler. If you don’t have it, find a different rhyming story to read.  What do you notice about the words? Can you think of some other words that rhyme?

Technology: Play the Cbeebies Peter Rabbit game, using the space bar to jump over the objects. I know a lot of you enjoyed playing it in Nursery. Talk about how you are making Peter Rabbit jump. What button are you using?

We look forward to seeing your learning today,

Best wishes

Mrs Keith and Mrs Grimes
