Early Morning Club (Childcare for Years N - 6)
Redbourn Primary School offers an Early Morning Club (EMC) every weekday during term time, running from 7:45am to 8:40am. The club is held in The ALPS and is open to all children from Nursery through to Year 6.
Activities
Children attending EMC can enjoy a variety of activities, including crafts, tabletop games, reading, imaginative play, and outdoor activities when weather permits. Please note that no food or drink is provided at the club, so children should have had breakfast before arrival. All children must bring a named water bottle.
Drop-Off Procedure
Children should be dropped off at The Alps entrance, located by the staff car park, by an adult or a responsible teenager aged 16 or over. At 8:30am, EMC staff begin transitioning children to their classrooms. Children in Years 5 and 6 may walk independently to their classrooms for 8:40am.

All sessions must be booked in advance on Arbor.
Childcare vouchers and Government Tax Free Childcare can be used to pay for sessions. Please inform the school if you would like to use either of these and give the name of the childcare voucher provider.
Reception–Year 6 Bookings and Payments
We encourage bookings and payments to be made up to a term in advance. However, if parents require any additional ad-hoc sessions, or prefer to book weekly, availability can be checked online and sessions can be booked up to 7:15am on the day (30 minutes before EMC starts and 8 hours before RCC starts).
All sessions must be booked in advance via Arbor, with bookings made at least 24 hours before the session. Although the club’s capacity is capped at 30 children per day, current attendance is below this limit. Parents are welcome to book for a full academic year, by term, or for shorter periods as needed. Bookings made at least one week in advance guarantee your child’s place.
The club is designed to ensure every family who requires wraparound care can access it. If demand consistently reaches full capacity, the school will consider increasing staffing to expand provision where possible.
Nursery Bookings and Payments
Due to the age of the children and the higher staff-to-child ratio required and specific qualifications for Nursery-aged children, all bookings must be made at least 6 weeks in advance.

If you do not have sufficient funds on your account, you will be unable to book a place.
If you wish to pay for EMC with childcare vouchers or tax-free childcare, you must let us know before you are able to book your places. Please email the school office with the following information:

Name of childcare voucher provider
Once we have registered your child, you will be able to make further bookings without topping up your account first. We will then update your account when you make a payment using childcare vouchers or tax-free childcare.
If your account falls into arrears by more than £30, we reserve the right to withdraw your child’s place. It is therefore recommended that you make an advance payment prior to booking.
Cancellations
Cancellations must be made by 12pm on the previous school day by contacting the school office directly. Refunds are not available, but credits can be applied to your Arbor account for future use.
