The James Marshall Foundation
The James Marshall Foundation (JMF) is a local charity that can provide grants for educational and career-related items/activities to young people and has been operating for almost 300 years. The eligibility criteria is that the:
- age of the applicant must be under 25 years
- young person must live in Harpenden, Wheathampstead, Kimpton, Redbourn, Markyate and Flamstead
- family must be in financial need
- grants are available for educational and career-related opportunities
Grants are provided to individuals and not organisations and a grant should be requested upfront prior to any payments being made.
At primary level, the main offerings they award grants for are:
- school uniform
- residential school trips
- extra-curricular activities
- laptops to assist with homework (for those in KS2 only and restricted to one laptop for primary aged children in a family)
