Admissions

At Redbourn Primary we follow the Hertfordshire County Council guidelines for admissions. If you would like your child to attend our school, please see full details of the admission arrangements using the link below. 

In-Year Admissions

If you are looking to move your child from another school to Redbourn Primary school, during the school year, you must apply for an in-year place via the Hertfordshire County Council, using the link above.

You can make an in year application for most schools in Hertfordshire. You can list up to four school preferences. If places are available, you will be offered your highest preference possible.

Prospective parents are welcome to contact the school for a tour of our school by the Headteacher. This will be an opportunity for you to experience a snapshot of Redbourn Primary School life. You will see the children learning in their classrooms and hear about class routines. Please phone the School Office on 01582 792341 to book.

EYFS FAQ's

Nursery Admissions for September 2027

Children who will turn 3 years of age between 1st September 2026 and 31st August 2027 are eligible for a Nursery place to start in September 2027.

Early Years Tours (for a September 2027 start)

We are excited to welcome prospective parents to Redbourn Primary School for our Nursery and Reception tours for our mixed aged Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) classes for Nursery and Reception aged children.

These visits will give you the chance to:

  • Experience a snapshot of school life at Redbourn.
  • See EYFS children learning in their classrooms.
  • Learn about our two mixed age Reception and Nursery class routines.
  • Ask any questions you may have about our Early Years provision.
  • Meet our Headteacher, Miss Emma Fenn and our EYFS Phase Leader, Mrs Kerry McLaren.

  • Friday 6th November – 2.00pm
  • Friday 13th November – 9.30am
  • Monday 16th November – 9.30am
  • Thursday 26th November – 9.30am
  • Friday 11th December – 2.00pm

Important Information:

  • Tours last approximately one hour.
  • They are designed for adults, so we kindly ask that children do not attend.
  • Each tour includes 30 minutes with the Headteacher (including time for questions) followed by a 30-minute walk around the school
  • Once you decide to apply, there will be further opportunities for your child to visit.
